Funeral Director Tony Hart attended two days of the Royal College of Nursing annual Conference at the Brighton Centre in Brighton from 14 to 18 May.
Tony said: “We gave out a fair bit of advice – most people never come across it.”
With the backdrop of the Brighton seafront, Congress 23 was an opportunity to network with peers, hear from exceptional keynote speakers and take part in hot-topic debates about the issues affecting the nursing workforce.
Tony went as a representative of Vasculitis UK. Tony runs ‘Sussex by the Sea’, a support group for people with Vasculitis, their family, and carers. The group meet every couple of month in Hastings at the St. Leonards Angling Association Club on Marine Parade.
Vasculitis means ‘inflammation of the blood vessels’. The immune system attacks healthy blood vessels, causing them to become swollen and narrow eventually destroying major organs.
Tony’s son has Vasculitis, so this is a subject which is very close to his heart.
Next year’s conference will be in Newport, Wales.
