Banfield & Pomphrey Funeral Directors was founded in 1946 by Reginald Banfield and Frederick Pomphrey. Mr. Banfield and Mr. Pomphrey ran a building and carpentry business based on the High Street in Old Town, Hastings. They soon developed the business to provide funerals for the local Hastings community. The business relocated to Old London Road, Ore in 1995 where it continues today to provide the high standards of personal service.   We will take care of all aspects of arranging and conducting your funeral service including floral tributes, obituary notice, catering or even supplying a horse-drawn hearse if required. Our branch has a private chapel of rest.

If for any reason you are unable to visit our office we are happy to come and see you in the comfort of your own home. Whilst this web site provides a range of general practical advice and should answer many of your questions, please do not be afraid to contact us for further help or advice on any aspect of the funeral service.

After the funeral we are able to offer a range of memorials from a simple grave marker to full headstone and kerb set.

Your concerns for the future can also be catered for with our full range of pre-paid funeral plans.
